Easter was a major photo fail. Basically, I forgot to implement every tip and trick I learned from my photo class regarding lighting and white balance. Well, memories are still pretty no matter how they are captured, just as long as they are captured, right? Let's go with that.
Our church had a luncheon and egg hunt last week after Palm Sunday mass. It was, of course, freezing cold outside, so they 'hid' eggs (read dispersed them over the floor and tables) in classrooms and the kids got to 'find' (read pick them up) them and put them in their baskets. Each age group went seperately, so it was fun for all. I'm convinced when your a kid, you don't care where the little plastic eggs are as long as they are filled with candy, so despite being indoors, the church egg hunt did not disappoint.
Now let's talk Easter Bunny. Not the one that magically hops about at night while kids are sleeping to hide eggs and fill pretty baskets. The fuzzy 5'-6" one that some poor person stuffs themselves into to pose with children. And honestly looks like they've left their dagger at home. Come on. You have to admit if this bunny had a knife at Casey's throat, it would not look all that out of place (except for the obvious morbidness of it).... and Casey probably wouldn't be smiling.
She might look more like this:
Here's a close up:
Don't just look at Emily. Look at the bunny, too. Ax murder, right?
Here is the only Easter Bunny that we've had the pleasure to be photographed with that didn't look like a knife-wielding crazed rodent. I'm pretty sure it's the lavender bow and the generously applied makeup that saves him. And the fact that when you actually see the poor guy in the suit, you feel less scared and more pity. (When I see this, I swear I think to myself the next time Tom ticks me off, I'm going to volunteer him to be this guy one day....kidding! It kind of makes you wonder what this poor guy did to get this gig)
We were at my parents' for Easter, so Nana and Papa got to join in on the action.
Coloring eggs:
My mom's side of the family got together at my aunt Marge's house after church. It's always fun to enjoy being around such a large family - not everyone is blessed enough to have 21 first cousins in the family.
There was an egg hunt for the kids. (It was cold and windy....again.):
And Emily loved holding the newest cousin's baby.
| Photo disclaimer: I just got back from a run here. |

I didn't get that perfect family picture of us all dressed in pastels posing before a newly budding tree. Instead I got a grainy, poorly lit picture of my darlings who couldn't look at the camera for all the chocolate in their little plastic eggs.
