Tom gave me an iPhone for Valentine's day this year. (I
love all the gadgets he's given me over the past year!! I've become quite the gadget fanatic!) I see many a parent hand their kid their iPhone to keep them entertained at the grocery, restaurants, ect. I totally get it. It's just not us, though, for a couple of reasons. I don't feel our kids need to be playing with an
expensive electronic device every time they are bored. They are too young for that and also, for Emily, too young to understand that there are times they cannot have it and I don't want any part in the tantrums that go along with ME using MY phone. While they each have apps on it to play and watch videos, their access to my phone is limited. (Don't get me wrong, I completely realize the power of keeping my girls entertained at places like the doctor's office with it!) So I really don't hesitate to utilize the Notes app in order to write down notes and lists for me to reference. Until tonight.

Without my knowing, Emily had gotten a hold of my phone and sat down next to Casey on the couch with it. Without any warning, I hear: 'Mo-Om, Emily has your phone and she has opened the page where the Christmas lists are at!'

Holy Mother of Christmas! The girls' Christmas lists are not just simply typed in that note. It is a list of what Santa is bringing, and what I know grandparents and aunts and uncles have gotten! It's THE list. Thankfully, Casey did not look at it closely; she just took it from Em and brought it to me. Whew! I will be merrily deleting some notes on my phone tonight....

Speaking of gadgets, I've been trying to find more time to tinker with my newest one - my camera. I've taken some pictures of the holiday decorations around the house, just because it's fun :)
| Our family Christmas cards of past years on the stairs |
| I love the kids' tree |
| Snowflakes from coffee filters |
| Window trimmings (the snowflake ornaments are ridiculously cheap after Christmas at Target) |
| The little village my mom had at her house when I was a kid - love the things that are passed down... |
| I will always keep the homemade ornaments forever and ever.... |
| ....especially the ones that have the fake smiles :) |
| Stocking just waiting to be filled |
| We never fail to get an ornament from special places |

Next up is getting last year's new gadget fired up - my red KitchenAid mixer - it's time to start the holiday baking!
